Jim Garrison's personal site
I am a PhD student in physics at the University of California, Santa Barbara, studying condensed matter theory.
I co-founded Wikiotics, a web site that helps language teachers build interactive language lessons using rich multimedia elements. In addition, I serve on the board of directors for the Wikiotics Foundation (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization).
From 2006-2008, I worked as the public relations coordinator for the Software Freedom Law Center, a nonprofit law firm that represents developers of free and open source software.
I have also worked as a software engineer in the CREATE Lab at the Carnegie Mellon Robotics Institute, and I still help out there as time permits.
